How we handle your information.
Last updated: March 2026. We take privacy seriously — especially when families share personal details to find childcare.
What we collect
When you submit a childcare request, we collect your name, email, phone number (optional), neighbourhood, child's age, timing, budget, and schedule preferences. We also collect basic analytics data (page views, search queries) through Vercel Analytics to understand how parents use the site.
How we use your information
We use your contact details to match you with appropriate daycare providers and to send you a shortlist of top matches. We may contact you by email to follow up on your request. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Daycare provider outreach
As part of our matching service, we may contact licensed daycare providers on your behalf to ask if they can accommodate your family. We share only the information necessary to make that introduction (child age, neighbourhood, timing). Provider responses are stored to improve future matches.
Data storage
Your information is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (AWS us-east-2). We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We retain lead data for 12 months after submission.
Cookies and tracking
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party cookies. Vercel Analytics collects anonymised usage data.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us at hello@daycarefindervan.ca. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in British Columbia, you have rights under PIPA (Personal Information Protection Act).
Unsubscribe
Every outreach email we send on your behalf to daycare providers includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Providers can opt out at any time and will not be contacted again.
